Video Editing Workshop

The Video Editing workshop is designed to teach members of HCTV how to non-linearly edit the raw footage they have shot.

While three nights are designated per month on the schedule, the demand to learn is high so a good portion of weekday nights are devoted to the craft.

Non-linear editing is a modern editing method that involves being able to access any frame in a video clip with the same ease as any other. Unlike linear editing, the process is done on tiers which allows for very flexible editing. It also makes it easy to change cuts and undo previous decisions simply by moving the video clips around on the timeline.

The editing workshop is a necessity for members looking to go beyond Live-to-tape studio shoots when creating their programs.
